Insomniac’s PS4 Spider-Man Game Coming 2018, Features Miles Morales, Peter Parker, And A Whole Lot Of Web-Slinging

Sony have shown off Marvel’s Spider-Man at E3 with an impressive 9-minute gameplay trailer.

The extended look follows last years reveal, and comes with news that Insomniac Games’ PlayStation 4 title is aiming for a 2018 release.

We also learnt that Marvel’s Spider-Man will feature Ultimate Spider-Man – Miles Morales – as well as Peter Parker, alongside various other characters from the Marvel Universe, including Kingpin Wilson Fisk, Mister Negative and Wraith.

For me, this footage was easily the highlight of Sony’s show – it’s visually fantastic, especially given it’s apparently running on base PS4 hardware (not PS4 Pro) in the demo – and the gameplay itself, whilst borrowing plenty from the Batman Arkham trilogy, seems to be fast, fluid, and exactly what Spidey needs.

My senses are tingling.

Insomniac Tease Their New Spider-Man Game at E3

Over at Sony’s high-octane E3 presser, we’ve just been treated to a brief trailer for Insomniac Games’ next project – a PS4 exclusive Spiderman title.

The teaser sees Peter Parker web-slinging his way through buildings as well as the streets, riding atop cars, and just doing other generally badass things.

Marvel and Insomniac Games team up to create a brand-new, authentic Spider-Man story exclusively for PlayStation 4. Take control of an experienced Peter Parker who is more masterful at fighting crime.

My Spidey senses are tingling – this looks great and I’m excited to see more in the future, although one suspects it’ll be late 2017 at the earliest before a release.
