Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare Launch Week Sales Down Almost 50% On Black Ops 3

The latest Call of Duty installment launched last week, but despite largely positive reviews sales figures for Infinite Warfare are down almost 50% on the Black Ops 3 launch last year.

UK Sales data, provided by GFK Chart Tracker, shows Infinite Warfare down 48.4% on Black Ops 3. Of course, Infinite Warfare isn’t available on PS3 or 360 as Black Ops was, however even with these removed there’s still a 44% decline on like-for-like sales.

Activision have been quick to point out, that despite declining numbers COD is still an absolute behemoth, and Infinite Warfare is still the biggest shooter launch of the year so far.

“According to GFK, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the #1 shooter/action game week one launch of 2016 in the U.K.”

It’s unclear as to exactly why the numbers are down so significantly, but the Black Ops series does hold weight amongst fans, and this coupled with Infinite Warfare launching alongside arguably the best Battlefield game in years is surely a factor for consideration.
