Trademark Filing Names New Destiny Expansion

The planned September content drop for Bungie’s epic FPS Destiny – believed to be a sizable standalone expansion – will be titled The Taken King, a trademark filing by the company seems to suggest.

It looks like The Taken King is the new title for the Comet: Plague of Darkness expansion which we first saw leaked via a snap-happy employee at one of the developer’s production meetings earlier this year.

The trademark, uncovered by NeoGAF, was apparently filed by attorney Jim Charne, the same chap who put his name to the the trademarks on The Dark Below and House of Wolves – Destiny’s two previously confirmed updates.

The logo included, described as a number of ‘oxblood slashes’, has a touch of The Hive about it, don’t you think?
