The first details and screens from forthcoming Major League Baseball title, MLB The Show 14, have been shared by PlayStation.
The game will be releasing on PS3, Vita and PS4 in Spring 2014 with the next-gen iteration receiving a significant graphical and technological boost.
“The handcuffs have been taken off,” said MLB’s Game Designer Ramone Russell.
The game’s announcement brings with it a host of new features, such as the ability to now continue in-game seasons on future games by importing your saves from a previous release (starting with MLB 14). There is also the option for new “quick-counts” simulated gameplay, which allows gamers to experience a full 9-inning baseball game in as little as 30 minutes.
MLB 14 The Show’s reveal was also used to highlight the graphical prowess of Sony’s upcoming machine, with dynamic lighting and reflections on in-game scoreboards being shown, and talk of massively increased polygon counts and hi-res texture maps.
